Description
German, Third Reich. Waffen-SS mountain troops (Gebirgstruppen) field-cap insignia, machine-embroidered in yellow and light-grey thread as an edelweiss on coarse black SS wool, the edges trimmed close to the embroidery as issued and the reverse showing the bobbin thread. Unissued, free of moth damage, fading or stitch holes; attributed to insignia recovered from the clothing depot at Dachau in 1945. Mint condition.
