Description
German, Third Reich. Waffen-SS mountain troops (Gebirgsjäger) sleeve insignia, machine-embroidered in yellow and silver-grey thread as an edelweiss within an oval border, on black SS wool badge cloth, the reverse showing the embroidery bobbin thread. Unissued, with no stitch holes; attributed to insignia recovered from the clothing depot at Dachau following the camp's 1945 liberation. Excellent condition, with a few loose threads.
