Description

Honduras. Order of Santa Rosa and the Civilization, Grand Cross badge, circa 1880, in high-quality silver with finely detailed enamel work (lacking the accompanying sash and breast star). Established in 1865 by President José María Medina to recognise contributions to civilisation, public service, arts, science and government, it was among Honduras' earliest national orders. Good condition, with light enamel chipping.
