Description
Romania. Order of Military Virtue, Grand Officer set, made in silver and hallmarked, numbered #007. Established in 2000 and based on the Medal of Military Virtue instituted by Alexander Ioan Cuza in 1860, the order is conferred on Romanian citizens and foreigners for military merit, in two divisions and with crossed swords for wartime service. Grand Officer membership is limited to 40 in the Civil Division and 110 in the Military Division in peacetime, with no limits in wartime; the Grand Officer is distinguished from the Commander by the addition of a breast star.
