Description
A photograph signed and inscribed by Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, "To Lt (jg) E.B. Maksimoski, USN With best wishes / C.W. Nimitz, Fleet Admiral, USN," depicting him signing the Japanese Instrument of Surrender in 1945, and additionally signed within the image ("C.W. Nimitz / U.S. Representative"). Measures 11 x 12¾ inches; slight fading to the lower edge of the marginal signature, some silvering in the dark areas, a few scattered dents and remnants of mounting to the lower verso.
