Description
Netherlands, Kingdom. Order of Orange-Nassau, Military Division, Officer, cased. Established in 1892 by Queen Emma in the name of Queen Wilhelmina, it is the most widely conferred order of the Netherlands and was awarded to Dutch and Allied personnel for the liberation of the Netherlands and its colonies during WWII. The Military Division is distinguished by crossed swords (the Civil Division by a laurel wreath); the Officer bears the obverse motto "Je Maintiendrai" ("I Shall Maintain") and a reverse motto translating to "God Be With Us," with the royal monogram of Queen Wilhelmina. Very fine condition.
