German WWII Waffen-SS Guard Unit Collar Tab

German, Third Reich. Waffen-SS collar tab of the type attributed to guard units, machine-embroidered in white thread on black wool, the reverse with the characteristic 'Dachau' white stitching over a tan buckram stiffener. Introduced in 1941, tabs of this pattern were issued to personnel transferred into the SS for guard duties amid wartime manpower shortages. Unissued, without damage or repair; very good condition.
