German WWII Waffen-SS 'Deutschland' Regiment Collar Tab (SS1), NCO/EM

German, Third Reich. Waffen-SS collar tab bearing the 'SS1' cypher of the 1st SS-Standarte 'Deutschland', for NCOs and enlisted men. The Deutschland regiment traced to the pre-war SS-Verfügungstruppe, which became the Waffen-SS in late 1939; the SS1 tab was used until May 1940, when it was superseded by the standard double-rune Waffen-SS collar tab and the black-and-aluminium NCO/EM piping was withdrawn. NCO/EM tabs of this period were produced in black cloth and worked in silver-grey thread for the field-grey uniform. Good condition.
