Description

A glossy 8 x 10 inch silver gelatin photograph signed by both President Gerald Ford and Secretary of Defense Melvin Laird, depicting Ford shaking hands with the recipient alongside Laird and others. Inscribed by Ford, "To Harry Humphreys, in appreciation and with warmest personal regards, Jerry Ford," and by Laird, "To Harry Humphreys with best wishes Mel Laird." Gerald R. Ford (1913–2006) served as the 38th President (1974–77), the only president never elected to the presidency or vice presidency; Melvin Laird (1922–2016) served as Secretary of Defense (1969–73) under Nixon and coined the term "Vietnamization." A few subtle surface dings, otherwise overall fine condition.
